 D.W. Swedes warranties our products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 6 months from the date of purchase under normal intended use.

What’s covered

Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship

Failures that occur during normal, intended jobsite use

What’s not covered

Normal wear and tear (including paint/finish wear, cosmetic scratches, etc.)

Damage from misuse, abuse, improper storage, neglect, modification, or using the product for unintended purposes

Damage from accidents, corrosion/chemical exposure, or environmental conditions

Any product that has been altered (welded, ground, drilled, heated, etc.) after purchase

Outside the 6 Months? Still Reach Out

Even if you’re past the 6-month warranty window, contact us anyway. Depending on the situation, we may still be able to help with a repair, replacement option, or a discounted solution. We stand behind our tools and we’d rather talk it through than leave you stuck.

How to file a warranty claim / request

Email us with:

Your order number (or proof of purchase)

The product name/length

A short description of the issue

Clear photos (and video if helpful)

Shipping

If your claim is approved, we cover shipping for the warranty process (return and/or replacement shipping, as applicable).

Resolution

If approved, we will repair or replace the product (or issue a credit/refund if a replacement isn’t available), at our discretion.

 We want you to be happy with your order. If something isn’t right, reach out and we’ll help.

Return Window

Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery for new, unused items in original condition.

Non-Returnable Items

Used tools or items showing signs of use, impact, or installation

Items that have been modified (welded, ground, drilled, heated, etc.)

Custom / special-order items (if applicable)

Gift cards / digital items (if applicable)

How to Start a Return

Email us with:

Your order number

The item(s) you’d like to return

The reason for the return

Photos if the item arrived damaged or incorrect

We’ll reply with next steps and return instructions.

Shipping Costs

If we made a mistake (wrong item) or the item arrived damaged/defective, we cover return shipping and will make it right.

For standard returns (ordered the wrong item/changed your mind), customer covers return shipping.

Refunds

Once the return is received and inspected, refunds are issued back to the original payment method.

Original shipping charges (if any) are not refundable.

 D.W. Swedes tools are built for real jobsite use. A little basic care will keep them working and looking good for a long time.

After use

Wipe off mud, moisture, and debris, especially after use in wet conditions.

If the tool is wet, dry it before storing.

Rust prevention

Steel tools can develop surface rust if stored wet or exposed to corrosive conditions.

For longer life, apply a light protective coating (oil, rust inhibitor, or a light spray protectant) before long-term storage.

Storage

Store tools in a dry area whenever possible.

Avoid leaving tools in standing water, wet truck beds, or exposed to salt/chemicals.

Use as intended

These tools are made to work hard, but misuse (prying with a striking tool, using cheater pipes where not appropriate, using as a wedge/chisel when not designed for it, etc.) can shorten tool life.

Finish wear

Paint and coatings will show normal wear with jobsite use. That’s normal and expected.

 These are heavy-duty, jobsite tools. Use common sense and work safe.

Always wear PPE

Safety glasses (striking and prying can send chips/flying debris)

Work gloves

Steel-toe boots recommended

Before each use

Inspect the tool for cracks, severe mushrooming, loose parts, or damage

Do not use damaged tools—replace or repair first

Safe striking

Use the correct hammer type and a controlled swing

Keep your hands clear of the striking area

Stand clear of bystanders and keep others out of the swing zone

Frost Pins: use a maximum 4 lb hammer

Safe prying & leverage

Maintain stable footing and a controlled body position

Keep hands and fingers away from pinch points

Don’t use cheater pipes or excessive force if it creates a slip hazard

Safe driving into ground

Call/verify utility locates before driving tools into the ground

Watch for underground hazards (power, gas, water, comms)

Use as intended

Do not modify tools (grind/weld/drill/heat) unless you understand the risks

Misuse can cause tool failure, injury, or property damage

Assumption of risk

Use of heavy-duty hand tools involves inherent risks, including but not limited to impact injury, pinch points, flying debris, and property damage.

The user assumes all risk and responsibility for proper use, handling, inspection, and maintenance of the product.

Proper use required

Products must be used only as intended and in accordance with basic jobsite safety practices.

Misuse, abuse, modification, improper storage, or failure to inspect the product before use can result in injury or damage and may void warranty eligibility.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, D.W. Swedes shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the purchase or use (or inability to use) any product, including but not limited to lost profits, downtime, job delays, or injury claims.

Maximum liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, D.W. Swedes’ total liability for any claim related to a product shall not exceed the purchase price of the product.

No guarantee of suitability

It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine whether a product is suitable for a particular application, environment, or jobsite condition.
